Campus: Then and now
Soaring over JMU in a small Cessna, camera in hand, was a surreal experience. We set out to recreate historical campus photos from the exact same angles, which meant a mix of careful planning, a bit of guesswork, and some creative problem-solving like using iPads to overlay old images in real-time. Seeing the university’s growth from the sky gave me a whole new appreciation for how much has changed and how much still feels like home.

Where ecology and history meet: JMU duo promotes conservation in Malta
During a four-week collaboration with Nature Trust – FEE Malta, I utilized drone photogrammetry and remote sensing to survey six Natura 2000 parks, supporting conservation efforts like mapping erosion at Xrobb l-Għaġin and designing sustainable access at Il-Magħluq ta’ Marsaskala.

A Common Tragedy: Colonial Mapping and its long-term effects on forest ecology in the Mid-Atlantic U.S.
In my recent project, "A Common Tragedy," I explored how colonial cartography disrupted Indigenous ecological knowledge in the Mid-Atlantic U.S., analyzing historical maps and advocating for reimagined cartographic practices to restore traditional land management techniques and cultural heritage.

Capturing Geography: Geographic Photography with TAMRON Lenses
How I blend my passion for geography with photography by using my studies to help capture the unique stories of our landscapes.

Aerial Imagery for Analyzing Ecosystems in Malta
In a recent project, I utilized aerial imagery to analyze Malta's ecosystems to geospatially assess environmental changes and aid in better conservation strategies.
